The Manteliusensemble is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year with an unforgettable musical event centered around singing and making music together. During the weekend of November 22 and 23, we are organising a two-day jubilee celebration with the theme The Gift of Life. As our special guest, we are honored to welcome Sir John Rutter, the world-renowned English composer and conductor, who has always held a prominent place in our repertoire and with whom we share enriching historical ties. He will conduct several pieces during the concerts and lead an inspiring singing workshop.

We warmly invite you to attend our jubilee or benefit concert in support of Sint-Vincentius.
-
Jubilee Concert – Saturday, November 22, 8:00 PM, Sint-Quintinuskathedraal, Hasselt. Admission: €27 (at the door: €30). The main work of this concert is The Gift of Life by John Rutter. In addition, we will perform other complementary works by Rutter and other composers that thematically align with the main piece. Together, they form an evening full of hope, light, and wonder.
-
Benefit Concert – Sunday, November 23, 4:00 PM, Saint Quentin Cathedral, Hasselt. Admission: €35 (at the door: €35). This concert is organized in collaboration with Rotary Club Hasselt-Herckenrode in support of the Sint-Vincentius' Christmas meal initiative. The program is the same as that of the jubilee concert.
The Gift of Life is a six-part composition for choir and orchestra, in which John Rutter poetically celebrates the wonders of existence—from majestic hymns to creation to intimate reflections on the transience of life. Rutter’s signature style—melodic, accessible, and deeply spiritual—makes this composition a unique listening experience for a wide audience.
In addition to concerts, we are offering a unique workshop where everyone is warmly invited to sing along under the expert guidance of none other than Sir John Rutter, the world-renowned English composer and conductor.
